New Year’s Eve at Home

Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, a chance to leave 2016 with a big bang whether you’re out on the town, or having a quiet one watching Jools Holland on the TV with loved ones.

If you are off out, chances are you’ll be having a few too many drinks and spending all Sunday feeling worse for wear and making that same old New Year’s resolution to not drink as much in 2017, if at all…the chances of that happening, near to slim!

But for those of you staying at home on your own, or maybe there are a few of you, here are some of our great entertainment ideas to make your night all the more exciting!

1-Karaoke through the years!

You don’t need an all singing, all dancing sound system to do karaoke. You don’t even need the backing tracks. But we all love a good sing song, so dig out your old CD’s, download your favourite sing along songs on Spotify and load up a playlist of the best songs from the years and get those vocals going!

If you do have karaoke tracks and a microphone, even better!

2- Make your own photo booth

It can cost a few hundred pounds to hire a photo booth for your event, and you might not even have the room for one. But you can have just as much fun by creating your own.

Securely fit up a black or white sheet against your wall to create your backdrop. Print out some props for example, moustaches, lips, glasses, hats, speech bubbles, symbols and cut them out nicely. Stick them to a kebab stick and bobs your uncle, you’ve got loads of cool things to hold up in your photos. Then grab any funny hats, headbands, scarves, ties or other props you may have in the house and add them to your collection.

Then all you need to do is set your phone to timer, or get your mates to take turns being the photographer and have plenty of fun in your own fab photo booth.
